“Calvin and Hobbes provided an exhilarating blend of fantasy, sophistication, pungent humor and superb drawing that was dazzling.” –The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio

Dilbert is a techno-man stuck in a dead-end job (sound familiar?). Power-mad Dogbert strives to take over the world and enslave the humans. The most intelligent person in Dilbert’s world is his trash collector, who knows everything about everything. When Dilbert first appeared in newspapers across the country in 1989, office workers looked around suspiciously. Was its creator, Scott Adams, a pen name for someone who worked amongst them? After all, the humor was just too eerily funny and familiar. Since then, Dilbert has become more than a cartoon character. He’s become an office icon.
“I think that idiot bosses are timeless, and as long as there are annoying people in the world, I won’t run out of material.”—Scott Adams

Book Lover Characters We Love!
Friday, June 25, 2010Whenever we encounter a character who reads a lot like we do in a book or movie, we tend to have a special ‘draw’ to the character, don’t you think?
These are the few characters BookXcess would love to share with you:
Wouldn’t it be amazing if we were to be presented a LIBRARY like Belle did from Beast?
Matilda is no doubt such an extraordinary girl with such intelligence & wit!!
We would ALL read as much as Hermione if we’re a Muggle-born being accepted into the wizarding school isn’t it??!
Thanks to Carrie Bradshaw, many fell in love with the “Love Letters of Great Men” book…
But of course, not all reading characters are females!
We have Mo, a perfect fatherly character from Inkheart who loves to read & instilled the same great love & ‘gifts’ to his daughter…
Last but not least, we have Merlin from The Sword in the Stone, the wise & patient mentor for Arthur. IF ONLY we could pack ALL of our books into one single luggage like he did!!
Do share with us, which is your Favourite reading character!
