book-prize

We’ve been behind with announcing the results of the last few Blog Bonanzas – our sincere apologies! As you know, a certain book sale that’s big and bad happened and kept us super absolutely busy last month. ;) Today we’ll announce all of them at one go.

Blog Bonanza 14

This was the one with the mystery prize that’s sooooo good you know you wanted it! It was one of the most well-received contest among the Blog Bonanzas. We had all kinds of guesses as to what the mystery prize was: books vouchers, free books for life(!), Dan Brown’s latest novel, the Twilight series of books, 13 books in conjunction of with Friday the 13th! Et cetera, et cetera. Some of you have guessed it right, though. The prize was… special invites to the preview of the Big Bad Book Sale! The preview was only meant for the media, but we thought perhaps a few readers would love the chance to be one of the first people to check out the sale. We know the winners, Subashini Gurusethan and Nor Akmar sure enjoyed the experience!

Blog Bonanza 15

Historical romance was the theme of this contest. Sadly, there were no entries received for this one, so no winners. (We think everybody was busy at the book sale during that week!)

Blog Bonanza 16

For the sixteenth edition of Blog Bonanza, we chose to give away some of our best-selling young adult titles. Below are the names of the winners and their winning entries.

Lilian Chen’s Entry

I know I would sleep better if I owned the Eragon book….if only I could tuck it under my pillow, ready to be read….all I’ll need to do is just open my eyes at the first sign of light and a whole new kingdom would be there for me to explore. This magical story revolves around a brave young man and the fiercely loyal and cute dragon by his side… ready to spring into action to save their world! The movie has mesmerised me and I’m just dying for an opportunity to explore the written world of this amazing tale, ready to devour every little piece of information left out from movieland!

Foo Siang Jiau’s Entry

Inkheart… a fantasy story so unique and thrilling, with its characters existing in the real world outside of the book and of real people having the ability to enter the world inside the book. Appealing to my sense of adventure and fulfilling my hunger for fantasy, this’ll be a book I’ll treasure forever….. now if only I could own it!

Congratulations to Lilian and Siang Jiau! Enjoy the thrilling fantasy books you’ve just won yourselves. :)

Blog Bonanza 17

Christmas is coming and everybody is in the mood for some free Christmas goodies! The entries for this week’s Blog Bonanza were just pouring into our inbox. Here are the famous Christmas stories as answers:

Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol
Dr Seuss: How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Chris van Allsburg: The Polar Express

And the lucky person who walks away with the mystery Christmas bag containing 4 Christmas books for children is… Lin Burton! Congratulations. :)

Winners, please check your e-mail for details on how you can claim your prizes from BookXcess.

Thank you to everyone who has participated! Look out for another Blog Bonanza this Friday.

The preview was absolutely great! I saw people went back home with 2 big boxes that they have to cart away using shopping trolley! I’m jealous. The only reason i have to restrain my purchase (8 book only) was because i don’t think i can carry a whole lotta books as i was commuting via the LRT.

    Thanks bookxcess! A lot!
