Christmastime is a special time for BookXcess and not just because of the unusually large crowd of shoppers coming in to get gifts! At this time of year, BookXcess organises its annual Charity Book Drive for three children’s homes. The three children’s homes are Agathians Shelter, Precious Children Home and Rumah Ozanam. BookXcess customers can help to spread the Yuletide cheer by giving a child a book. For every child a customer gives a book to, BookXcess will give a book too! That means the child gets a gift from you and from us.

How to Take Part in the BookXcess Charity Book Drive

1. Head towards the counter on the left side. Next to it is a table. On it you’ll find a basket with blue and pink cards.

2. Select a card. Behind the card you’ll find the details of the child: name, age and the shelter’s home. All boys’ names are written on blue cards and girls’ names on pink cards.

5. Write a message on the card you’ve selected, then pass your gift & card to a BookXcess staff. Done!

BookXcess will give another book to the child you’ve chosen to give to, so the child gets two books – one from you and one from us! We will arrange to visit the 3 children’s homes during the Christmas period to distribute the gifts and spread some cheer to the children.

Boxes we prepared, ready to receive your gifts for the children of these homes!

Join in the fun with us as we share the love of reading among the children of Agathians Shelter, Precious Children Home and Rumah Ozanam. Come along to BookXcess today and choose a Christmas gift for a child.

“Do give books – religious or otherwise – for Christmas. They’re never fattening, seldom sinful, and permanently personal.”

    Suggestion:

Should make purchase available thru internet too so that those who are too busy to drop in can do their christmas charity via internet and to shop for friends and family books for christmas.

If you do Mail order, we can also have the flexibility to buy and send over to our friends and family who are staying faraway. At least they will get a surprise. I know that we can pop over to your shop, buy and sendiri send but sometimes we are unable to do that due to one reason or another.

    Hi kathy

Currently we’re doing online book orders on a case-to-case basis. We’ve done a couple of them so far. :) If anyone would like to contribute to our book drive via the Internet, please feel free to e-mail us!
